"Wyndham's Pal" by Harold Bindloss uses some of the author's experiences growing up in the wild nature of Canada's western territory for inspiration. This tale follows Wyndham, a young man who is good at heart but who has setbacks that make him less than perfect. He's prone to scheming and isn't afraid of taking shortcuts. His friend, Pal, on the other hand, might not be quite so cunning, but he's tender at heart.
