Captain Frederick Marryat was one of the pioneer authors in the sea-fairing novel genre. This book is based largely on his personal experience on ships and traveling the seas during his long and highly decorated career in the Royal Navy. It's the story of a smuggler, a pleasure yacht captain and crew, and a revenue schooner and what happens when they all cross paths.
