This is more than a biography of the famous Polish/British writer, Joseph Conrad (1857 - 1924). Walpole has looked at his life and then also his work as a novelist and poet. He discusses whether or not Conrad was a romanticist or a realist, then concludes his book with a bibliography of Conrad's works available both from English and American publishers.
