'Harvey Garrard's Crime' is a romance-thriller novel written by E. Phillips Oppenheim. The story follows Harvey Garrard, the heir of a leading leather merchant company in London. Never having much interest in the family business, Garrad chose to engage in gambling and sports in Monte Carlo, until one day, the last partner of the company died. Upon his return to London, he found out that the company is at the brink of bankruptcy, and decided to put all his energy into saving it. Yet, one day, when he turned to his office, he found a dead American leather merchant sitting in his waiting room.
